One of our most notable initiatives is our focus on minimizing plastic waste. By incorporating recycled materials into our product designs and prioritizing durability, we limit the volume of plastic entering the waste stream. We repurpose over 12 million pounds of recycled clothing scrap that would otherwise end up in landfills or incinerators to create our Green Seal® certified Natura Yarn line of wet and dry mop heads. Additionally, one Natura Broom repurposes 8 plastic bottles and 250 bottle caps. It’s the first mop product to earn the Green Seal GS-20 Certification.

Our Natura Lobby Dustpan and Broom Head have received the UL Solutions Environmental Claim Validation for their innovative, sustainable designs.

Sustainability doesn’t just stop at material selection and manufacturing; it includes every step of the life cycle, especially packaging. We use Brik-Pack™ to package our mops. It reduces the amount of cardboard and plastic used by up to 70% when compared to standard packaging.

Supporting LEED and Green Building Goals

Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond our internal operations and extends to helping our customers achieve their own environmental goals. One way we do this is by offering a wide range of third-party certified cleaning tools, including Green Seal-certified products.

With our product offering, items like our Natura Yarn wet and dry mops help reduce waste and support more circular manufacturing practices using recycled materials. Commitment to Responsible Manufacturing

Sustainability at ABCO extends into our manufacturing and operations. We continuously work to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions within our facilities. At our manufacturing plant, our solar panels generate 1 megawatt of energy, helping power the entire facility while reducing reliance on nonrenewable sources. These energy savings are equivalent to powering 45 homes. Water conservation is also a key priority. Through our manufacturing processes, we’ve saved enough water to fill 42 inground pools.

Vertically Integrated Manufacturing

At ABCO, we are a vertically integrated manufacturer that utilizes a nearshore production strategy. By manufacturing closer to shore, we reduce long-distance transportation needs, which helps lower greenhouse gas emissions and improves supply chain efficiency. This approach also allows us to respond more quickly to demand and maintain greater consistency in product availability.
